Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and crumble.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour to make a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and mustard powder until smooth, then bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the cheddar cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
  7. Mix in the cooked macaroni, chicken ham, and crumbled bacon until fully combined.
  8. Transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add some cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce.
  • You can substitute the cheddar with any cheese of your choice.
