Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings

A delicious and easy recipe for comforting chicken and dumplings made in a crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in the bottom of the crockpot and cover with chicken broth.
  2. Add carrots, peas, celery, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, tear the biscuit dough into pieces and drop them into the crockpot.
  5. Cover and continue to cook until the biscuits are cooked through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs such as thyme or parsley.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
