Easy Overnight French Toast Casserole

  • 1 loaf day-old French bread
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 8 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup.
  3. Cube the French bread and add it to the egg mixture, stirring to coat thoroughly.
  4. Fold in the crumbled turkey bacon.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden and set.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, drizzle with additional maple syrup before serving.
  • This casserole can be made the night before for a quick breakfast.
