German Potato Soup

A comforting German Potato Soup made with turkey bacon and chicken ham, perfect for chilly days.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 green onions

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the potatoes and onion.
  2. In a pot, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and crumble.
  3. Add the diced onions to the pot and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the potatoes and chicken ham, followed by the chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  7. Blend the soup until smooth, then return to heat and stir in heavy cream.
  8. Season with salt and pepper, then garnish with green onions and crumbled bacon before serving.
