Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Drop tablespoons of gingerbread dough onto a lined baking sheet. Make a small indentation in the center.
  8. Fill the indentation with a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
