  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt, then fold into the wet mixture.
  5. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool, then prepare the icing by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  8. Spread the icing over the cooled bars and let set before cutting into squares.
