  • 1 whole chicken
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add the whole chicken and simmer until fully cooked.
  3. Remove the chicken, shred it, and set aside.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add butter and milk to the dry ingredients to form a dough.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling broth.
  7. Cook for about 15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
  8. Return shredded chicken to the pot and stir gently.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
