  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together molasses, brown sugar, and butter until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and then roll them in the sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
