Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake

A deliciously cozy recipe that combines the flavors of sushi with the comforts of a baked dish.

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup seaweed sheets, cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions.
  4. While the rice is cooking, prepare the salmon by removing any skin and bones, then chopping it into small pieces.
  5. In a bowl, mix the chopped salmon with mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  6. Once the rice is cooked, spread it evenly in a baking dish.
  7. Top the rice with the salmon mixture, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  10. Serve warm with strips of seaweed on the side.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
