Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake

A rich and creamy triple chocolate mousse cake that satisfies any chocolate lover’s craving.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 8 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
  • 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, melt the milk chocolate in a similar manner, then set aside to cool.
  3. Repeat with white chocolate.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale. Mix in the melted chocolates and vanilla.
  5. In a clean bowl, whip the remaining heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into the chocolate mixture.
  6. In another bowl, whip the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form, and gently fold into the mixture.
  7. Layer the mousse in a cake pan and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, garnish with chocolate shavings or berries.
  • Make sure to allow the cake to chill thoroughly for the best texture.
